This privacy policy explains how we manage your personal information we collect about you. Please read this privacy policy before using the site or submitting any personal information. By using the site www.paradisesonline.com (the "Site"), you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy. These practices may be changed, but any changes will be posted on the Site and changes will only apply to activities and information on a going forward, not retroactive, basis. You are encouraged to review the privacy policy whenever you visit the Site to make sure that you understand how any personal information you provide will be used.

PIP takes its obligations under the Act and the NPP seriously. PIP will take all reasonable steps to comply with the Act and the NPP to safeguard and protect the privacy of the information that we hold. This privacy policy sets out how we intend to do so.

We collect your personal information:

  • when you deal with us by telephone, letter or email;
  • when you access and interact with the Site; or
  • from other sources.

What information we collect

The information we collect may include your:

  • driving licence number; and
  • transaction information (including credit card details).

When you visit the Site, we may record, for statistical purposes or in order to improve the Site or services provided by PIP, the following information:

Why we collect information

  • to make reservations or make bookings at hotels featured on the Site;
  • to communicate with you to better understand your needs and the needs of our customers through competitions, market research, promotions, featured specials, to conduct surveys or to comply with our legal obligations;
  • to provide you with information about services or products offered by PIP;
  • to monitor or improve the quality and standard of service provided to you or other customers by PIP;
  • to complete a transaction with you or on your behalf;
  • to provide offers that may be of interest to you;
  • to better understand your preferences.

Who we may share your information with

You authorise PIP to share or disclose your personal information with:

  • our related bodies corporate;
  • our employees, insurer, third party contractors, agents or to our sponsors on a confidential basis;
  • our business partners, where from time to time, we partner with other companies to provide co-sponsored or co-branded products or services and may share your information with our co-sponsor;
  • our service providers (including service providers that provide web maintenance, billing and booking services);

We will otherwise not transfer your personal information, or use, sell or disclose your personal information without your consent, unless:

  • such disclosure is permitted under the Act;
  • we are required  by law to disclose that information;
  • we are trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorised transactions;
  • we are investigating fraud which we believe may have already taken place.

The Site may contain links to websites which are owned or operated by third parties. You should make your own enquiries as to the privacy policies of these third parties. We are not responsible for information on, or the privacy practices of, such websites.


Transborder Data Flow

You consent and authorise PIP to transfer your personal information to an organisation or individual outside Australia.
PIP will only transfer personal information to a foreign country for the purpose of providing you with the services of PIP and for carrying out any request you make when you use and interact with the Site.


Personal Information about other People

You must not provide personal information to PIP about another person, unless that person has authorised PIP, through you, to collect, use and disclose personal information about that person for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

What happens if you choose not to provide the information

You are not obligated to give us your personal information. However, if you choose not to provide  us with your personal information  we may not be able to provide you with information about the services offered by PIP or to fulfil one or more other purposes of collection of your personal information. 


Sources of information

Where possible PIP will collect your personal information directly from you.
If your personal information is collected from a third party, PIP will take reasonable steps to inform you of the collection and provide you with our privacy policy.


Accuracy of the information

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you is accurate, complete and up- to- date. You can help keep your personal information up to date and secure by contacting our Privacy Officer at admin@paradises.com.au and by maintaining confidentiality of any password, user name, accounts and profiles used on the Site.


Sensitive Information

The term "sensitive information" refers to personal information about an individual's racial or ethnic origin, political or philosophical beliefs or affiliations, trade or professional affiliations, sexual preferences or practices or criminal record and health information.
We do not collect sensitive information unless it is volunteered by you.


Personal Information from children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian, please do not allow your children to submit personal information with out your permission.


Direct Marketing

You consent to and authorise us to include your personal information in a database compiled by us for use in direct marketing by us. If you do not wish to receive marketing material from us, you can opt-out by contacting admin@paradises.com.au.

All emails, SMS and newsletters from this Site allow you to opt out of further mailings.

If you "opt-out", we will not be able to remove your personal information from the databases of business partners, affiliates, or third parties which we have already shared your personal information as at the date of your request to opt-out.


Access to your personal information

PIP will, on request, provide you with access to personal information held by PIP about you, subject to any limitations or exceptions in the Act.
PIP will deal with requests for access within a reasonable time. You must pay PIP for reasonable costs incurred by PIP in providing you with access.
If PIP refuses to provide you with access to personal information about you, PIP will provide you with reasons for the refusal, in accordance with the requirements of the Act.

Security of your personal information

We will take all reasonable steps to protect the security of the personal information that we hold. This includes taking appropriate measures to protect electronic materials and materials stored and generated in hard copy. We also take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify your personal information where it is no longer required and to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, misuse and alteration.


Cookie/Tracking Technology

The Site may use cookie and tracking technology depending on the features offered on the Site. Cookie and tracking technology are useful for gathering information such as browser type and operating system, tracking the number of visitors to the Site, and understanding how visitors use the Site. Cookies can also help customize the Site for visitors. The privacy of our customers is of utmost importance to Adventure World Travel Pty Ltd (ACN 122 505 631) (Adventure world). This Privacy Statement sets out how we manage personal information across our business. It applies to Adventure world, the National Roads and Motorists’ Association Limited (ACN 090 839 197) (NRMA) and each wholly owned subsidiary of NRMA (NRMA Group) and to the practices of the agents and contractors engaged by the NRMA Group to provide goods and services. It also applies to your use of any Adventure world or NRMA Group website, your dealings with Adventure world and the NRMA Group as a member or a customer, and any third party information which may be collected by us.

Types of personal information we collect

The types of personal information we collect will vary depending on your dealings with Adventure world and the NRMA Group and the products, services and benefits we (or our agents, contractors and third parties) provide to you, or a request or inquiry you make in relation to such products, benefits and services.

This information may include any or all of the following:

  • name, address(es), telephone number(s) and other contact details;
  • electronic address(es);
  • date of birth;
  • gender;
  • vehicle details including registration, model and colour;
  • transaction details relating to your use of our products, services or member benefits;
  • any benefits you obtain from your membership; any of the above information in respect of additional cardholders or your family members; and
  • any preferences you tell us about.

We may collect sensitive information, such as the fact that you are disabled, to allow us to provide our services more effectively to you but only if you provide express consent at the time it is provided. Information is also generated whenever a page is accessed on our website that records information such as the time, date and specific page.

We collect such information for statistical and maintenance purposes that enables us to continually evaluate our website performance. Some parts of our websites also use “cookies”. A “cookie” is a small text file that is placed on your computers hard drive by a web page server. Cookies store information about the use of our website and are used to identify new or previous visitors to the website and what pages have been accessed. Generally, we collect and use personal information about customers to provide a range of products, services and benefits to customers relating to their travel and related lifestyle needs.

We also collect personal information to assist in identifying ways in which we can serve you better, such as providing our products and services to you more effectively, and to assist our internal administration and operations including accounting, risk management, record keeping, archiving, systems development and testing, and staff training.

Some of the information we collect is for the purpose of improving our interaction with customers and their involvement with Adventure world and the NRMA Group. We collect personal information about third parties, including family members, for purposes in relation to your and their dealings (either directly or indirectly) with Adventure world and the NRMA Group.

Customers who provide personal information about a third party individual need to ensure that those persons are aware of this Privacy Statement, understand it and agree to accept it. If that individual does not have the capacity to understand and agree to these terms, Adventure world requires a parent or guardian to give the assurances set out in this paragraph.


How we collect information

Generally, we collect personal information directly from you, such as when you request a product or service, in the course of providing you with that product or service, or when you have other dealings with us.

We may collect and update that information over the phone, by letter, fax, e-mail, over the Internet, on our website, in person or if you participate in our marketing campaigns. We may also collect personal information through third parties such as:

  • our related companies:
  • *Insurance Australia Limited* (trading as NRMA Insurance) and its related entities;
  • agents making travel arrangements on your behalf;
  • Data washing organisations and postal service providers, including Australia Post.

Storage and protection of personal information

We store personal information in a combination of secure computer storage facilities and paper-based files and other records. In so doing, we have taken numerous steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Additionally we take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information when we no longer need it. We impose strict requirements of security and confidentiality on all third parties as to how they store, handle and deal with your personal information.


How we use personal information

We may use and disclose your personal information for a variety of purposes in connection with servicing you and in relation to our business operations. These include:

  • processing and administering your dealings with us as a customer;
  • processing your online booking;
  • being aware of any special travel requirements (health or otherwise) you may have;
  • providing you with confirmation of your flight booking and advising you of any changes to your itinerary.
  • Confirming your identity when you check in.
  • Addressing any feedback or complaints you may have.
  • providing you with the products and services you have requested from us;
  • developing processes, products, services and benefits to better meet your needs;
  • disclosing your information for use by relevant parties in connection with our services; and
  • Conducting market research and marketing our products and services to you more generally.

We may also use your personal information to offer or provide you with loyalty benefits, discounts or other information about such schemes that may be operated by us or third parties. This includes:

  • providing your personal information to companies in the NRMA Group and to our other business partners, *Insurance Australia Limited* (trading as NRMA Insurance) and its related entities to give you information and offers about products and services offered by us or these companies;
  • obtaining details about how you acquire and use our products and services;
  • rewarding members for utilising our products and services through mechanisms such as discounts, special pricing offers and prizes; and
  • Targeting appropriate marketing of products and services to you.

We may provide your personal information to our agents, franchisees, contractors or related companies for the purposes of, or in connection, with the supply of products and services to you and for the same purposes above.

If you do not wish to receive marketing information from Adventure world or the NRMA Group, please use the contact details below to update your preferences. Please note that if you make such a request:

  • we may still need to use your personal information to provide you with the services and products you have requested as a member or customer; and
  • It may not be possible for us to immediately action a request to cease receiving any or all marketing material. However, we will respond to such requests as soon as practicable and will make all reasonable efforts to promptly activate a change in preference to opt out of receiving future marketing material.

We will not sell or rent your personal information without your consent. We may disclose your personal information where we are required or authorised by law to disclose your personal information or for any purposes connected to a fraud, crime prevention or impropriety investigation.


Access to personal information

We will take reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is accurate, complete and up to date. If your personal details change, such as your address or phone number, please contact us on (02) 8913 0600 or at Privacyofficer@tlholdings.com.au to update your details.

Following a request, we will provide you with a copy of any personal information which we hold about you in accordance with our obligations under the Privacy Act. We may charge a fee for retrieving this information, in which case we will inform you of the fee in advance of providing the information. We undertake to promptly acknowledge and investigate any complaint about the way we manage personal information.
