Peter Evans
Pete Evans discovered his love of cooking because of his passion for the great outdoors. If he could work at night and have his days free to surf and fish, then a chef he would be.
Born in Melbourne but raised on the Gold Coast, Pete is not just your average chef – he’s an avid fisherman, surfer, cookbook author and television personality. Pete’s food career began at the tender age of 19 when, with brother Dave, he opened their first restaurant, The Pantry, in Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Brighton in 1993.
Hugos Manly, which they opened in 2008, is the latest in a chain of venues for the Hugos Group along with Hugos Bar Pizza and Hugos Lounge Kings Cross which between them share eight Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide chef’s hats, 21 ‘best in Australia’ titles and a World’s Best Pizza award at the 2005 New York Pizza Show.
Pete also co ordinates Hugos Catering & Hugos Team Building events which includes Pizza and cocktail making classes. Also, a pretty impressive point to note: 60 Members of the Oprah Winfrey Ultimate Down under Adventure Audience came to Hugos in late 2010 to learn the art of making the perfect pizza from Pete!
His most recent venture has seen him take on the role, with Manu Feildel, as presenter and judge of Seven Network’s My Kitchen Rules. The rather-easy-on-the-eye duo have now presented the show for two successful seasons, with plans for a third series in 2011.
Pete is hardly shy of the camera and his other work includes over 400 episodes as the host of Australia’s number 1 cooking show “FRESH” on Channel 9, 60 episodes of “Home” a lifestyle program, a one-hour behind-the-scenesdocumentary,“Cooking For Our Princess Mary” and the series “FISH” which saw Pete and his fishing mad brother in-law ‘Udo’ travel around Australia sourcing & cooking the freshest catch.
And if that isn’t enough,He also annually appears at some of Australia’s most acclaimed food events such as “Tasting Australia”, “The Good Food Show” and “The Great Barrier Feast” as well as cooking in both LA and New York for the G’day USA celebrations 2009, 2010 and 2012.
Pete and Hugos are proud to be actively involved with a variety of charities including Sydney Children’s Hospital, The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Paul Newman Foundation, PLAN, Ocean Aid for Japan, Starlight Foundation to name a few. Pete is proud to be partners with Jacobs Creek Reserve Range, Sumo Salads, Range Rover and Breville.

Alannah Hill
Australia's reigning queen of romantic, girlie fare, designer Alannah Hill has worked her whole life to build an iconic fashion empire around her love of colour, flowers and sequins.
Hill was born in Tasmania in 1963 to Catholic parents who owned a milk bar in the coastal town of Penguin. At 16 years of age, the designer left home for Melbourne, with "six suitcases filled with costumes", her mother's wedding ring and hopes of becoming an actress.
After waitressing at a local café, Hill was hired by Indigo clothing store on Chapel Street in South Yarra, where she worked for 15 years. During this time, she approached the owners with some design ideas, and was soon creating her own label for the brand.
In 1996, Hill launched the Alannah Hill label, opening her first boutique one year later. Today she boasts 14 boutiques in Australia, 14 branded boutiques in David Jones and an online store that will go global in July. This year, Hill will unveil a new swimwear range.
One of the designer's proudest moments was being picked up by Henri Bendel in New York and walking past the store window on Fifth Ave with her designs on display.
Hill lives in (and loves) Melbourne with her 8-year-old son Edward, who she affectionately calls "Sugary".
Lisa Maree
All eyes are on Lisa Maree The next hottest thing in Australian swimwear...
It's hard to believe Lisa Maree Boersma started her swim label, Lisa Maree just two years ago. After a highly successful launch at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week 2010, fashionistas are lining up to buy Lisa's signature crochet swimwear.
A qualified graphic designer, Lisa started in the fashion industry as a wholesaler, printing unique designs on T-Shirts and selling them to retailers in her spare time. Customers responded to Lisa's sassy prints giving her the assurance to take the plunge into her true design passion, swimwear.
As a Bondi local and former model, Lisa loved swimwear and knew there was a demand for fashion-forward swimwear with a point of difference. While keeping with her aesthetic she wanted her range to represent Australia's beach culture and the spirit of the Bondi summer. Lisa began designing a range of retro crochet swimwear and day-to-night beach wear.
Lisa Maree is now stocked in leading boutiques across Australia and major international retailers are also picking up the label. The biggest achievement under her belt is the deal she has signed with the world's largest online designer fashion store, Net-A-Porter. Other major international retailers that already stock Lisa Maree include mycatwalk, Urban Outfitters, and US retailer Free People.
